CHRISTINA. English RP dialect. Margaret's caring and somewhat controlling older sister. Has a special affinity for her mother.

Margaret's younger brother. Coddled by his mother and sisters. An unrealistic dreamer. A lovable but flawed young man whose ambitions are greater than his abilities. He's easily expendable when Malcolm needs to save his kingdom.
GAMELIN. Light Scottish dialect. 40-45. Malcolm's well-spoken advisor. Likes to be in control. Looks down on Margaret.
HAROLD. English RP dialect. 30-35. A young nobleman on the rise in England. Becomes king of England before being killed at the Battle of Hastings.
Rugged, manly Scottish king. A thrill-seeker. Margaret's goodness and strength changes him into a gentle and loving husband. Think 30s-40ish Gerard Butler.
PHILLIP. English RP dialect. 15-20. Mischievous Anglo-Saxon teenager. Friend of Edgar's. Gets him in trouble.
LETTER BEARER. Light Scottish dialect. 25-30. Young working man.
A wise English monk who becomes Margaret's trusted friend and confessor.
