BROICSECH. Portuguese dialect. 20-30s. Brigid's mother. A Christian slave in the Chieftain's house who was brought to Ireland from Portugal.
A slave in the kitchen of the chieftain's house. Secretly a Christian. Acts as a mentor to Brigid.
CATHAL. Native Irish dialect or similar. 17-23 (18+to play younger). A young slave on the same estate as Brigid. A friendly, intelligent lad.
MAN WITH LEPROSY. Native Irish dialect or similar. 30s. A man suffering from leprosy. Good-humored, friendly, refuses to let his afflictions make him bitter.
Compassionate, impulsive young girl enslaved on an Irish estate. Wants a life beyond servitude and marriage when she grows up, but doesn't know what else is out there. Loves to sing.
