While her family struggles to make ends meet, Bernadette desires more than anything to receive her first Communion. She is obedient to her parents and gentle to everyone, but demonstrates virtues of perseverance, courage, and faith in following God’s will above all.
This series contains moments of intensity and raised voices. It also contains depictions of family strife caused by poverty. Bernadette is briefly questioned by the police, who threaten to imprison her. There are brief and incidental mentions of violence.
