The North American Martyr
New France, 1636. Three great colonial powers - France, Britain and the Dutch Republic - vie for control of North America, forging alliances with three great powers in the New World - the Huron, Algonquin and Mohawk nations.

Rating Reason
The series tells the story of one of the first North American Martyrs: Saint Isaac Jogues. Isaac begins the story as an eager missionary arriving for the first time in the New World. There, he forms a friendship with a Huron chief and eventually converts him. Together, their journey puts them in conflict with the powerful and anti-Christian Mohawk people. Elements of Courage, Friendship, and Christ-like Suffering are highlighted.
Some elements of the series may not be suitable for younger audiences, including indirect depictions of drunk characters, several battle sequences, and violent descriptions of martyrdom. There are also depictions of several deaths by smallpox. There are minor instances of racism against Native Americans.
