Rating Reason

Louis and Zélie Martin, the parents of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, trusted in God's providence through many joys and sorrows. Their example teaches married couples how to seek sainthood, both as spouses and as parents. In their sacrificial love for each other and their children, they reveal the joy of self-giving, showing how ordinary family life can be a path to holiness.

This series contains moments of emotional intensity. Louis and Zelie struggle to trust in God’s will for them. The deaths of children due to illness is portrayed. Parents struggle with the loss of a child. Voices are raised in arguments. The series ends with the death of a parent from cancer.
