Rating Reason

The story of Saint Drogo teaches the virtues of piety, perseverance, hope, and charity through the life of a tortured but devout young man. Drogo’s self-denial and unrelenting pursuit of God’s mercy inspire awe, while Elizabeth’s generosity and Pierre’s loyal friendship model charity and steadfastness. The story beautifully affirms the truth that God’s mercy reaches even the most wounded souls.

This series contains moments of danger and intensity, including raised voices. A death in childbirth is described. Drogo is mocked publicly because of his disfigurement. Drogo’s life is threatened by a church fire. Drogo refers to his mother’s death when giving birth to him as an “unforgivable sin” and undergoes intense suffering as part of his penance.
